Lighthouse Youth Initiative is a residential program for young people aged between 18 – 24 years who are experiencing homelessness. However more than that, Lighthouse Youth Initiative supports young people in resolving complex trauma and as a result, helps them move forward into a brighter future. Our main focus is providing a safe environment for young people to experience stability, often for the first time and to feel accepted, loved and respected. And from this foundation, we are able to successfully engage young people in employment and training opportunities, as well as teaching the skills necessary to live independently. We are not looking at short-term interventions, Lighthouse Youth Initiative is about long-term transformation. Seeing young people develop healthy brains, successful relationships and engage with their community in positive and lasting ways.
