our programs
Family spaces
We have family spaces available in our foyer and parent’s room for children 2 years and under.
These areas are a great place for parents to enjoy the service on the television screens, while the children enjoy their playtime and morning tea.
Preschool Program
Our Preschool room is specifically designed to cater for ages 2 years – 5 years old. Each week, the children participate in activities that teach them about God in a fun and engaging way.
A typical morning in this room will generally consist of free play, a time in which the children
can make new friends and become familiar with our wonderful Kids Leaders; singing bible
songs; a bible story; and a simple craft activity.
Re: dirty nappies.
Child protection laws prevent Kids Leaders from changing dirty nappies. Should a nappy need to be changed, we will text you during the service.
Primary program
Our Primary Program is a great place to make new friends, have bucket loads of fun and learn more about God.
A typical morning in this room will generally consist of free play, a time in which the children
can make new friends and become familiar with our wonderful Kids Leaders; singing praise
& worship songs; play high-energy games; a bible teaching; and leader-led small group time
to further connect with children in their age bracket and discuss what they have learnt.
Join our Instagram page to get weekly parent resources to help you continue the conversation at home.
Pre-teen program
The Lighthouse pre-teen program is run at The Station for Year 5-7 students every second Sunday during school term. On the alternate Sunday, the pre-teens enjoy the main service with their parents or leaders.
They will play fun games, build relationships and discover more about the bible and themselves. There will also be small group, discussion-based bible teachings that will help your pre-teen learn how to take ownership of their faith and discover who God says that they are.
Station mums
Station mums is run every second Monday during term time at The Station between 9.30am and 11.00am in the Foyer.
It’s a great place for mums and kids to connect, and stay-at-home dads and grannies are welcome too! Lots of toys in our play space.
Community Kids Hub
The Community Kids hub is a family-based support network that runs every Tuesday afternoon from 4pm to 6.30pm. It caters for parents looking for a safe community to connect into, a place for their kids to play and an opportunity to enjoy at free dinner together at Lighthouse Community Kitchen.
There will be chaplains onsite to connect with parents, homework help, a basketball zone and other fun activities for kids.

faqs
No. Each program has been carefully designed to cater for the needs of a specific age group.
We understand that joining an unfamiliar program can be daunting for some children, which is why we have leaders ready to make your child feel settled and welcomed.
Younger children often experience separation anxiety. Feel free to stay for a few minutes to help settle your child. If they start crying when you leave, we encourage you to leave them with us as most kids will settle within a few minutes. Be assured that if they don’t settle, we will let you know and not leave them distressed for long periods of time.
Here are a few things you can try:
- Talk to the leaders about it. They can make an extra effort to help your child connect with other kids and get settled in the programs.
- Remember, the best way to make ‘friends’ at Kids Church is by attending regularly.
- Sometimes children may protest about going but actually end up having a great time once there. Don’t be afraid to leave them in the friendly hands of our caring Kids Leaders to get them settled. If they still haven’t settled after a period of time, be assured that we will contact you to pick them up.
Keeping your child safe is our highest priority and to assist, we have the ‘Kids Check-In Team’ to sign your child into the right program. Once signed in, both parent and child will get a sticker for pick up.
- Only adults may sign a child in and out of a program.
- Should your child need assistance during the service, we will send you a text message.
- Make sure you arrive early to avoid long queues.
Here at Lighthouse Kids, we celebrate all of our kids’ birthdays at the end of each month with a monthly Birthday Bash! We will provide a cake and celebrate your child with the whole church, after the service.
Our Birthday Bash occurs on the last Sunday of each month
so make sure you don’t miss out!
There are many different ways that you can help support this ministry. We are always looking for help both on a Sunday and mid-week including the following areas: administration support, room design, pastoral phone calls, shopping for resources, photocopying colouring-in pages and organising craft.
