Lighthouse Kids is a family ministry that aims to engage all families with little ones between the ages of 0-12 years. We want to be a connection point for all families in the Illawarra and provide; a place to ENGAGE, a place to be VALUED and a place to BELONG.
The aim of Lighthouse Kids is to embrace the physical needs of families, captivate their interests, affirm their personal journey and mobilise their potential.
Lighthouse Kids has several different programs operating during the week that are run primarily by a team of trained Kids Leaders, Parent Helpers and Junior Leaders. All Lighthouse Kids Programs are overseen by Elyse Flaherty the Children’s Director at Lighthouse.

Held during our Sunday Church gatherings, this program has been specifically designed to cater for needs of toddlers.
We believe you are never too young to begin learning God’s truths! Our leaders aim to create a safe place for your little one to play and engage with others. Through age appropriate activities, we aim to lead your toddler in songs, craft, teaching and free-play that will form and build their spiritual foundation around three simple but powerful truths; God Made Me, God Loves Me, Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever.
Held during our Sunday Church gatherings, this program has been specifically designed to cater for the pre-school age group.
Our Sunday program is constructed to meet your pre-schoolers where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. Through age appropriate activities, we aim to lead your pre-schoolers in songs, craft, teaching and group-play that will build their spiritual foundation around three simple but powerful truths; God Made Me, God Loves Me, Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever.
Kindergarten- Year 5- Activate
Held during our Sunday Church gatherings, Activate is a high- energy program that is packed full of fun games, praise and worship and interactive teaching and activities. Our weekly program is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus when at home, school and with friends.
Impact (Year 6):
Held during our Sunday Church gatherings, the aim of Impact is to help transition children from Kid’s Church to adult church and to our Lighthouse Youth programs. We want your child to know what it is to love the House of God and the Word of God. Impact is held weekly and run by a team of Lighthouse Kids and Youth leaders.
Year 6 are invited to join Lighthouse Youth each Friday evening for Shakers 6pm- 7:30pm
Station Mums Social is a weekly gathering for women and their children, across generations and cultures. It is a space that fosters real and authentic communication, a space to find support in your parenting journey with women who understand the complexities of this stage of life. You will find us fortnightly at The Station (Lighthouse) from 10:00 am – 11:30 am and every other week at a location in our community. Check our facebook group for the weekly program here.
The Village is a community project and initiative of Lighthouse North aimed at creating community environments, spaces and gatherings that add value to women. Everything we do is geared around 3 values- the sharing of WISDOM between women, which leads to GROWTH as individuals and as women in our COMMUNITY. Wisdom, growth, community.
We meet fortnightly on a Thursday at 10:30am- currently at the park on the corner of Mountain and Henley Road in Austinmer, we bring a rug and some snacks to share, watch the kids play while we sit and catch up.
At Lighthouse, we want parents with babies to be cared for and to engage in Lighthouse programs. There are specially designed parent’s rooms fitted with couches, change tables, microwaves and toys to help make caring for your baby as comfortable as possible. There are also couches in our foyer if you prefer this option. Each of these areas have a screen with a live feed of the speaker and the gathering, so you don’t have to miss out on what’s happening in church.
We’d love you to volunteer in any of our Lighthouse Kids programs.
Our vision is to partner with parents as we encourage children to grow in their relationship with God. We believe that God has an amazing life planned for each child and he wants to start that life now!
If you’re passionate about helping introduce this new generation to God and creating an environment for them to have fun as they grow up then Lighthouse Kids is the place for you.
